The national auctioneer’s weekly online event demonstrated an impressive year-on-year increase of 39.3% – and set other records in the process.
It may be the summer holidays, but bidders certainly haven’t been taking a break when it comes to buying property at auction. Auction House’s national online event has delivered exceptional growth, with its latest auction setting new records for the number of lots offered, the overall amount raised, and the number of bids on a single property.
Reaching new heights
The online auction, which ran for 24 hours over the 28th and 29th July 2025, set a new company benchmark with 90 lots entered. As a result, a grand total of £4,278,251 was raised, exceeding the previous record of £3,953,776 achieved during the company’s 25th February online auction earlier this year.
The continued growth of Auction House’s weekly online events takes the overall sum raised to £12,414,576 for the month of July 2025, demonstrating an impressive year-on-year increase of 39.3%.
Commenting on the ground-breaking results, Oliver Prior, National Commercial Director of Auction House, said: “This auction has really blown our former records out of the water. There can sometimes be a summer slowdown when the holidays begin, but this auction has demonstrated a strong buyer desire, running counter to general market reports regarding a softening auction market.”
A standout property
Bidding was enthusiastic across the board; however, some properties really caught the interest of buyers. 1 Lancaster Road in Cockerham was especially notable. Guided at £46,000 (plus fees), competitive bidding from nine buyers drove the final sale price to £168,000. Remarkably, the property received 108 bids in total – setting a new record for a single lot.
“The generation of 108 separate bids for a fire-damaged property reveals the appetite of buyers for development projects that offer significant value-add opportunities,” added Oliver Prior. “It also shows the excitement and energy that can be created on an online platform, which is going from strength to strength as its popularity builds.”
July’s final national online auction has set the company’s third quarter off to a fantastic start. With another four online auctions scheduled for August, Auction House is now looking to see if buyer momentum continues to build to provide them with their strongest summer ever.
